Hi my name is Ben Campo. I am a criminal defense attorney and I’ve been representing people who have been charged with the crime of Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquors (OUI)
If you’re watching this video you’ve been pulled over and charged with the crime of OUI. At this point I have to assume you don’t know what to do. You don’t know how to defend these charges, you may feel as though you need to just accept your punishment and move on, and you are probably wondering how you are going to get your life back.
You’re leaving the station, you’ve just been charged with OUI. You have a couple of pieces of paper, and one of them has your court date on it. You need to contact me before your court date. The first thing we do at the court date is enter a plea of not guilt so we can scrutinize the charges against you. There is another process through the bureau of motor vehicles, and that starts with the bureau of motor vehicles notifying you about an impending driver’s license suspension. I will use the due process system offered by Bureau of Motor vehicles to fight that suspension.
Finally I will work to minimize the impact of these charges on your life. I’m sure you’ve already worried enough about to whether you will keep your job and how you will care of your family if you lose your license for a considerable time. I understand this and it’s a real fear. I will do everything I can and work through the available channels to ensure that the disruption is minimized to the fullest extent possible.
